What is fruit kefir ?

Fruit kefir is a fermented, sparkling, unpasteurized drink obtained by fermenting fruit and sugar. The drink obtained is tangy, naturally sparkling and rich in microorganisms (lactic acid bacteria and yeasts).

Things to know

  • do not use metal (for strainers and spatulas)
  • store the drink and kefir seeds in glass jars
  • water should not be filtered and not chlorinated
  • sugar must be blond non refined
  • seeds can be stored separately in different ways

What are the benefits of fruit kefir?

  • helps fight rashes and eczema.

 

For even greater effectiveness, kefir should be consumed fairly quickly. It is recommended to drink it chilled throughout the day, starting with a large glass on an empty stomach in the morning. It is also possible to do more or less regular kefir cures depending on the needs.

 

How to store fruit kefir seeds

The easiest way to store kefir grains is to keep them in cold water with a little sugar and change the water every month. The absence of sugar leads to an imbalance of the bacterial flora. Do not dry them out as this affects the kefir grain. It is possible to freeze them by sweetening them strongly.

Mix all the ingredients in a glass jar, cover and leave at room temperature for 12 to 24 hours.
If your jar is hermetic, let the gas escape from time to time

Filter the seeds with a plastic strainer and consume keeping the drink cool.
